Viborg Town Hall stands as a pioneering example of sustainable construction in Denmark. The town hall was inaugurated in 2011 and took an active part in the EU project Best Energy, together with other European cities. The architecture is a masterpiece created by Henning Larsen Architects.

Sustainability and Energy Efficiency in Focus

In addition to being an architectural gem in the middle of Viborg, Viborg Town Hall is living proof of the city's commitment to sustainability. Both externally and internally, advanced systems such as groundwater systems, heat pumps, solar cells and thermoactive constructions with integrated cooling and heating hoses have been implemented.

The roof of the town hall is a green roof, where moss collects rainwater to reuse it instead of discharging it into the sewer system. The rainwater contributes, among other things, to the filling of the artificial lake in Rådhusparken.

Automated Energy Management

The town hall operates with fully automated control of heating, cooling and ventilation. Sensor-controlled lighting installations react to movement, while light levels are adjusted to natural daylight to create an optimal working environment.
