Historical experiences at Hvolris
Our ancestors have lived in the area since the Stone Age - for approx. 6000 years ago and until now. Hvolris primarily focuses on the Iron Age in the time around the year 0. Completely unique for a historical workshop, you can see archaeological excavations side by side with the recreated Iron Age village in the hills of Hvolris.
Exhibitions at Hvolris
In Tømmerladen you can explore the archeological exhibition with Iron Age finds from excavations at Hvolris. Many of the Iron Age pots have been copied for use in the village, where they are used for cooking.
The Iron Age farmer's costume, which in several copies is well preserved from bog finds, is shown with selected copies in the exhibition.
