Experience Viborg Mini City, which is a historical environment of the houses that were within the old city gates, and how the city looked around the year 1850, in mini size 1: 10. At that time, the city had approx. 4000 inhabitants.

The construction of Viborg Mini City began with the houses in Sct. Mogens Gade, stretching from Sct. Mathias Gade to Reberbanen and the adjacent side streets. There are also areas that reflect Nytorv and Latinerhaven, and there is even room for the Cathedral and Gråbrødre Klosterkirke.

The historic city of Viborg

The city of Viborg was founded in the area of Viborg Cathedral. Here you will find traces that stretch back more than 1000 years in Danish history, and the city's name, which means "Sanctuary on the mountain," has its roots here.

After the Lutheran influence of the reformer Hans Tausen and the break with the Catholic Church in 1536, many churches and monasteries were closed down. Several of the houses in Viborg Miniby are actually built using recycled materials from these disused churches and monasteries.

The construction of Viborg Mini City also bears the legacy of the reconstruction after the great city fire in 1726, which destroyed large parts of the city. Each individual building part is carefully crafted by dedicated mini-builders using specially developed tools and machinery.
