Borgvold with the old rampart is Viborg's oldest and most beautiful facility.

Borgvold (approx. 4,5 ha.) was laid out in 1864. The site of the rampart is probably the remains of the royal castle, which Erik Menved built in 1313. During the summer months, the kiosk is open, and here you can enjoy both ice cream and other delicacies. On site you can also rent boats, canoes and pedal boats. Next to it, there is a good playground with covered tables and benches.

There are many different trees, bushes, perennials, summer plants, etc. Here is also the memorial stone for Erik Ejegod, and in the facility you can also find the sculptures "Sitting Girl" and "Lying Girl" created by Gerhard Henning as well as "The Mermaid" created by Ludwig von Schwanthaler ".

The Bible Garden

The Bible garden is part of the 'Borgvold' park and was inaugurated in 1989. You can experience a unique collection of herbs, shrubs and trees. All are mentioned in the Old Testament and the New Testament and provided with name tags, Bible quotations and often peppered with information about legends and superstitions.
