Hald Hovedgaard is located in scenic surroundings by Hald Sø close to Viborg. The manor house was built in 1787 as the last of De fem Halder.

Today, Hald Hovedgaard houses the Danish Writers' and Translators' Center and is a literary workplace. Hald Hovedgaard is not publicly accessible, but there is free access to the park and the area with the old fortifications.
