Experience Dollerup Bakker – a unique ice age landscape

Dollerup Bakker, about 10 km south of Viborg, is located by the village of Dollerup and offers a unique landscape shaped by the last ice age. Here you will encounter steep slopes, deep gorges and heather-covered hills that rise up to 63 meters above sea level. From the top you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Hald Sø, Denmark's third deepest lake with a depth of 31 meters.

Hiking trails for everyone

The area around Dollerup Bakker and Hald Sø is ideal for hiking. You will find several marked trails that take you through varied terrain with forest, heath and lake shore. A special experience is the trip to the viewpoint at Bisballe Bakker, where you are rewarded with panoramic views of the landscape.

Nature and wildlife

Dollerup Bakker is part of the Natura 2000 area and contains rare habitats such as species-rich grasslands and heaths. The area is home to a rich wildlife, including deer, foxes and various bird species.

Practical information

  • Parking: There are parking spaces at Dollerup Ice House and along Ravnsbjergvej.
  • Toilets: Disabled-friendly toilets are available at Dollerup Ishus.
  • Accessibility: The terrain is hilly and can be challenging for those with walking difficulties. A handicap-friendly path is available at Inderøen.
  • Public transport: Bus 712 runs from Viborg Station to Dollerup.
